Yuzu Private Dining started as a side business while working full time as a private chef in Scotland, catering for private chef bookings, wedding & dinner parties.

My main motivation was wanting to start building my own venture without the need to raise a large amount of initial financing or debt.

From this we've reached a point in the business where we needed to grow the team to fulfill all of the booking requests. We now work with a small group of private chefs in our professional networks as a private chef booking agency.

Our main focus areas are London, where I currently live and work, the South East and Home Counties. We also work a lot in The Cotswolds, where I grew up and my family live.

As a small company, we're able to charge much lower commissions than larger booking platforms, meaning our chefs are able to earn a fair wage without the cost of the bookings becoming overly expensive.

FAQs

Can you cater for marquee and dry-hire weddings?

Yes. We can cater in marquees, private homes and dry-hire venues. We'll establish what facilities are available and arrange the additional catering equipment required to deliver the menu.

Do you provide furniture such as tables & chairs?

Not as standard, however we can arrange for an additional charge.

How do we get a quote?

Send us your wedding date, venue, approximate guest numbers and the style of food you're considering. We'll then put together an initial proposal and indicative pricing.

Do you have public liability insurance?

We have public liability insurance & employers liability insurance in place. This means that if there were any unexpected incidents, there would be legal cover in place.

Can I request a specific dish or menu?

Absolutely! Client satisfaction is one of our key objectives, so having a menu that works for you is crucial! Feel free to pop any requests into your free no obligation consultation and we will see what we can do. Whether you’d like to indulge in a Michelin style tasting menu, or just share a casual sharing meal with friends, book a free initial consultation to discuss your needs.

Do your prices include VAT?

We aren't currently VAT registered. If & when we do register for VAT, our prices will be reflected to include VAT so it's clearer.

Do we all have to have the same dish?

We normally have a fixed menu for all guests other than any dietary intolerances or food allergies, this allows us to make sure the food is cooked properly and served sufficiently hot with the facilities we have available. We will try our best to accommodate, however cannot guarantee different dishes.

Do you provide waiting staff?

For most of events we will provide enough FOH staff to ensure the level of service that we deem acceptable based on our standard staffing ratios.

Do you provide cutlery & crockery?

We don't include plates, cutlery etc. as standard. We can arrange this for an additional charge.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

In order to secure your booking, we will ask you to make a deposit of 25% of the expected total value of the booking. This will be partially refundable based on the time remaining to the event & any expenses incurred to date.

What forms of payment do you accept?

All payments should be made by BACS as detailed in any invoices sent to you and in line with the payment terms expresses. Details about payment options & details will be provided during the booking process. Credit/debit card payments can be accepted IF arranged up front, this will incur a 3.25% fee to cover processing costs with the merchants fee.

Do you travel to client locations?

Yes. We are always happy to travel to guests & new locations and have a growing network of partner chefs in different areas. If you're outside the UK, please contact us to discuss further.
